What Wall? By Mike Reed
The U.S. Constitution states in the First Amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or the free exercise thereof…”
In a 1947 case before the Supreme Court, Everson v. Board of Education, the Court majority ruled, “The First Amendment has erected a wall between church and state. That wall must be kept high and impregnable. We could not approve the slightest breech.”
How did the Court get from the Constitution limiting the actions of the federal government in declaring a national religion to limiting the influence of religion in government? Read more »
Does The Bible Teach Capitalism?
The short answer is, “Yes!” If you’re interested in why, read on…
For as long as any of us have been alive, people have debated whether or not the Bible teaches an economic system; and if it does, what that system is. Some say that the Bible only deals with “spiritual” matters, so it doesn’t teach any economic system. Liberation Theologians like Jeremiah Wright say it teaches socialism or communism. This was also popular among Catholics in the South American countries that had communist revolutions.
Conservative Protestants have historically insisted that the Read more »

Is Political Non-involvement Biblical? by Rev. Dr. David Rowe
Is Political Non-involvement Biblical?
When a Christian is convinced that a theological position is true, whether it’s a formal or informal position, it is extremely difficult to change that opinion. That’s the way it should be. As followers of Jesus Christ, the Scriptures teach us to beware of false doctrine, false teachers, and so we’re on guard against changes to our system of belief. Eph.4:14 says that we’re to “no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming.” When our beliefs are challenged, we must be very careful to search out the truth.

THE ENABLER by Richard Kropf
The Enabler – It could be anyone who gives a person a pass even when they do wrong. Jesus says this person should be judged. Are we all enablers of elected officials who misrepresent us? There could be two answers. 1. Those who did not vote for them would not have been. 2. Those who did vote for them would be enablers. Exoneration could come to those who did if they were fired by our collective votes November 2, 2010. But if they continue to misrepresent us, they are the enablers of wrong values. We need to change the way we hire them! Now here is the clincher. We, the people, elected President Obama who enabled enough voters to win the election by fraud. It might be asked: how was fraud committed? The answer is simply his multitude of broken campaign promises. One of his campaign platforms was change. I never heard him define his vision of change. Did you? He pumped the crowds to chant: “Yes we can”. After being sworn in as president, he then enabled Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House and Harry Reid, the majority leader of the Senate to create various major bills of legislation which increasingly and nearly totally misrepresent the will of the people. Protesters Display Displeasure at Spratt Rally / WSPA
It’s the People! by Rev. Dr. David Rowe
In this election year, we all have the urge to find some political platform or some specific candidate to throw our energy behind in hopes of bringing our agenda to fruition. I will be involved in these efforts to some degree myself.
However, it’s critical that Christian Conservatives not lose sight of the larger issue just because it’s an election year! Consider how many times in the last 30 years we, or like-minded folks, have jumped on similar bandwagons, enjoyed some small degree of progress, and then retreated with content back to our self-satisfied lives! Guest Editorial by Christina Jeffrey
This question was asked of Christina Jeffrey: “[H]ow did we become so preoccupied with life and living that we so completely divorced ourselves from politics to the degree that we would allow such as this to happen?”
The following is her very insightful and sobering response:
We didn’t LET ourselves because we don’t raise ourselves. Our parents and our teachers and our Pastors and our Politicians have responsibilities to see to it that Freedom is not only guarded but passed on to the next generation. If one generation fails to raise the next generation correctly, civilization and freedom can be lost in 50 years of neglect. Read more »
